Wild turkey hunting represents an appealing opportunity during the spring period. Turkey hunting is often compared to big game hunting experiences, given that the activity takes place partly during the breeding season, when turkeys are more responsive to calls. Wild turkey populations in Quebec have been on the rise over the past decade due to climate change and milder winters. Hunting is permitted from sunrise until noon during the stated period. LGS has access to several agricultural and forested properties where turkeys are abundant throughout the season. The main hunting area is located east of Trois-Rivières, extending to the Portneuf region.

We offer 2 different formats for turkey hunting: a fully outfitted guided hunt, or a fully independent self-guided hunt.

The guided hunt is supervised by a guide for the duration of the hunt, and all necessary hunting gear is also covered by LGS. We usually hunt from tents designed specifically for this purpose, but sometimes hunt more simply from the base of a tree. Groups of 2 people are required to book exclusive access to a guide; otherwise, you'll be paired with other hunters.

The fully independent self-guided hunt is a new format exclusive to LGS, designed to give certain hunters — whether beginners or experienced — the chance to try their luck independently, without having to purchase equipment or invest effort in scouting.

The $300 price is therefore a flat fee that includes hunting equipment (calls, chairs, slate) and access to established properties at the time of booking. The hunting period spans more than 14 days, between May 7 and May 20.

A team member will accompany you to confirm field access and discuss hunting strategy. An internal check-in/check-out protocol must be followed throughout the hunting period, and a $700 deposit is required. The deposit is refunded upon return of the equipment.
