Le Goose Shack is specialized in snow goose hunts, covering fall season and conservation season in spring. We’re following the birds migration in the best areas of the province, from northern agricultural lands to south side. We hunt near migratory stops to offer you the best hunt possible.

In fall season, from September 1st to November 10th, we hunt around the Lac-St-Jean, which is the first migratory stop of the birds in their migration to south, after the nesting season. From November 1st to December 15th, we follow the migration to the Centre-du-Québec and Southwest of the province to hunt near the Ontario borders.

Spring hunts, from March 20th to May 20th, are in the Southwest area and near the natural sanctuaries around the Lac-Saint-Pierre, where 500 000 snows stops to rest and eat each spring, before resuming their migration towards the Arctic. From mid-April to the end of May, we cover Mauricie, Quebec City and Bas-St-Laurent areas, to stay located in the most active areas according to the migration evolution.

A typical hunt usually lasts half a day and we hunt in the early morning. However, it is possible to hunt in the afternoon too if you want to add an additional hunt when booking with us.

The great snow goose is, without a doubt, the most difficult bird to hunt, but also the most exciting! Birds flocks with hundreds of snows swirling above our heads, leading large groups of birds going down within rifle range and its unpredictability makes it the greatest challenge of any waterfowler! Hunting the great snow goose is definitively an experience you won’t forget anytime soon!
